Alison Davidson

Director of Sport and Grounds

Prior to becoming Director of Sport in 2014, Alison had worked for a number of organisations within the leisure sector, extensively with the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) since 2002, becoming Regional Director in 2004 and then Divisional Business Manager of the South and West Region in April 2013. Alison has been involved in managing national programmes of the NGB and overseeing strategic delivery across the south of the Country.

As Director of Sport, Alison leads the University of Exeter Sport team, overseeing each department and working closely with the directors and assistant directors of each area.

Charlotte Hale

Head of Performance

Charlotte leads on all aspects of Performance Sport at the University including the Sport Scholarship Scheme and individual Performance Sport Programmes.

Charlotte graduated from the University of Exeter with a BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science, before obtaining an MSc in Sport Psychology from UWIC in 2004. She holds an interest in the wellbeing and lifestyle management of elite sportsmen and women, and in particular the dual-career demands of the student-athlete and holds a Level 3 qualification in Talented Athlete Lifestyle Support (TALS) a Foundation Certificate in Counselling Psychology and is a Mental Health First Aider.

Paul Kirby

Senior Sports Operations Manager

Having always had a passion for sport, Paul chose to work in leisure from an early age. Paul has worked as a manager for 25 years in the leisure industry in a variety of roles and contrasting facilities. Paul has managed, fitness suites, sports halls, swimming pools and fun pools, catering facilities, squash courts, bowling, play, studios and outdoor pitches. Paul loves to play sport and his role enables him to facilitate other participating people in the sports they love.

Charlotte Raymont

Student Sport Manager

Charlotte graduated from the University of Gloucestershire in 2002, with an Honours degree in Sport and Exercise Sciences. After graduating, she worked within the leisure industry as a swimming teacher, lifeguard and gym instructor. Charlotte then went on to work for the sports development department at the University of Plymouth, until she joined the University of Exeter as Athletic Union Manager in 2005.
