Adult tennis

The University of Exeter Tennis Centre runs a Community Programme throughout the year, including Youth and Adult Tennis courses.

Our coaching team strive to deliver fun and engaging sessions within a safe and professional environment, to facilitate the development of adult players at all levels of ability. Players will experience the Adult programme across all stages of development from Beginners to Performance. We provide expert tuition and all relevant equipment.‌

Improvers

Performance

For experienced club players that are familiar with the tactical & technical aspects of the game, and who enjoy testing their skills within a competitive environment. Sessions will consist of tactical drills & match-play.

This course IS NOT suitable for players with no existing tennis experience.

Club Night

A popular session for players seeking a social tennis experience, within a friendly and inclusive environment. 

Players must have some pre-existing tennis experience to take part in this session (eg: able to rally consistently & carry out basic skills such as serving and returning)

This pay-as-you-go session IS NOT suitable for players with no existing tennis experience.

Pay & Play

A popular doubles session for players with some pre-existing tennis experience. Sessions consist of friendly doubles match-play that is overseen and supported by Grant Notten a member of the coaching team.

This course IS NOT suitable for players with no existing tennis experience.

NOTE - Coffee will not be provided by the tennis centre following the session. Players are welcome to bring their coffee to enjoy within one of our communal areas. Alternatively, takeaway coffee can be purchased within the university forum building.

2025 Sessions

Tuesdays

  • Adults pay & play (coffee morning) from 10:00-12:00
  • This session is a Matchplay session for Intermediate players (this level is for Adults of a good Club level standard, the sessions require the ability to rally and serve).

Thursdays

  • Adults pay & play (coffee morning) from 10:00-12:00
  • This session is a coached session for Intermediate players (this level is for Adults of a good Club level standard, the sessions require the ability to rally and serve).

Fridays

  • Adults pay & play (coffee morning) from 10:30-12:30
  • This session is a coached session for Advanced players (this level is for players competing in the Box League and District League, looking to improve their ability to compete).
