EUSC aim to raise funds for three new boats

Crowdfunding update: EURFC raise over £7000 as EUSC start fundraising for new boats

Exeter University Men’s Rugby Union Club (EURFC) have closed their crowdfunding campaign after raising a grand total of £7,138.50. Following the success of the Rugby campaign, Exeter University Sailing Club (EUSC) have started crowdfunding and are well on the way to three new Fireflys.

The funds raised by EURFC will go towards a new fixed camera system for the 1st XV pitch at Topsham, which will allow the Club to live-stream their matches as well as aid match analysis. They’re also looking to purchase a new scrum machine and some Game Ready™ rehabilitation equipment to aid recovery from injury. The grand total also included a generous donation from Vic Ambler, who previously donated towards the University’s Golf Centre on Streatham Campus.

Meanwhile, EUSC have set up a crowdfunding campaign to buy three new Firefly boats for the club. Established in 1949, EUSC are committed to getting students involved in sailing – from those who are competing at a national or international level, to those who have never sailed before. The club are looking to replace some of their older boats and so are seeking donors to contribute to the cause and help put more sailors on the water.

The club is also offering rewards to those who donate, ranging from club ties and car stickers to sailing lessons and sponsorship. The biggest donors will even be given the naming rights to one of the new boats! Please visit the crowdfunding website and give what you can to the cause.

The University of Exeter has been awarded The Times and The Sunday Times Sports University of the Year 2016, following significant investment and development over the past 10 years.
