TASS provides athletes with a tailored package of services worth up to £3,500 in value.

Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme

The Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) is a programme funded by Sport England that represents a unique partnership between talented young athletes, national governing bodies of sport (NGB’s) and the higher (University) and further (college/school) education sector.

TASS prides itself on developing student athletes by helping its athletes to balance academic life with training and competition as a performance athlete. Each year TASS supports over 350 athletes in over 25 different sports, aged over 16 years old who are currently in education whilst competing at an elite level.

The scholarship

  • TASS provides athletes with a tailored package of core services including strength and conditioning, lifestyle support and physiotherapy. Athletes also have access to sports nutrition and sports psychology support if required.
  • Athletes receive an expenses allowance of £500.
  • TASS awards are awarded annually and run from 1st September to 31st August.
  • Nominations are made by the individual sporting National Governing Bodies, with the core services delivered at TACs.
  • Over 25 different sports are covered by the scheme.
  • Athletes must be competing at national or international level in their sport and be nominated for a TASS award by their NGB.
