Intramural leagues are run throughout terms one and two in a number of sports inlcuding hockey.

Besides the intramural leagues one-off events are organised, including an annual rugby tournament.

Intramural Sport

Intramural sport provides recreational leagues, open to all students and staff. Teams usually enter from halls, sports clubs, societies, academic teams and groups of friends.

Leagues are recreational so no previous experience is necessary. Teams can only have one student who competes for the University first or second team in that sport on the field of play at any one time.

The competition takes place during terms one and two. Additional competitions are held in term three. One-off events take place throughout the year.

Fixtures and results

Immediately after fixtures results must be reported by the team captain. Results are updated instantly.

The normal rules for the individual sports apply. Please see ithe intramural handbook for a comprehensive list of sport-specific rules and regulations prior to entering.

When and where do fixtures take place?

All leagues take place outside lecture times. The weekly fixtures begin in week three until the end of term two - totaling 18 weeks.

All sports take place at the Sports Park facilities except the 11-a-side football competition which is held at Duckes Meadows.

How much does intramural sport cost?

Entry for each sport costs just £25 per person for 18 weeks of fixtures. Entry includes intramural t-shirts, individually branded with your team name free of charge. This is the only payment for entry into each sport.

The number of team entries available in each sport are limited and are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Please contact reception for more information.
