Be Active, Be Inspired
The University of Exeter are extremely proud of its levels of sporting engagement within the student population as a whole, with sports forming an integral part of a student’s University of Exeter experience. The Be-Active Be-Inspired campaign widens sporting opportunities by offering one-off events, tournaments, outdoor activities, fitness and health classes and sport taster sessions. This caters to students who are not able to commit to regular weekly sporting activities and is open to students of all abilities, no matter their sporting experience.

Most activites are free of charge to encourage students to increase physical activity levels
Always thought about entering a team into a sporting league but haven’t quite got the commitment for weekly participation?
Teams can be entered into one off tournaments for just a small registration fee.
Interested in trying a new sport or to get back into the sport you used to participate in?
We run a number of taster sessions for a variety of sports that are all free of charge.
Thought about trying a fitness class or outdoor activity?
A wide range of activities are offered across our sports facilities at the Sports Park and St Luke's Sports Centre, catering for a broad spectrum of student sporting preferences. You can also enjoy the outdoors by joining in with a number of outdoor activities.

|Fitness Classes-CIRCUITS||Monday and Thursday||17.15-18.00||
The essential all-body workout, Circuits will improve your overall stamina, strength and endurance. The workout is split between multiple workout stations where you will repeat exercises for a set time period before moving on to your next challenge.
For term 1- we will be offering this class for free! It is always best to book to guarantee a place, but you can just turn up and register at the reception on the day.

The National Governing Body Badminton England has teamed up with the Macmillian Cancer Support for Badminton 4 Macmillian week 2016 that consists of a week of badminton activity inspired at inspiring people to hit the badminton court whilst raising vital funds!

All classes at halls are open to all students no matter what residence they are from and you do not have to be a first year! No need to register, just turn up on the day!

The Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, Jiu Jitsu and Karate Clubs have joined together to bring you the third inaugural Exeter Martial Arts Week. The idea of the week is to showcase the martial arts that Exeter has to offer and to give everyone a chance to get involved, give it a try and have some fun! EAch sport taster class is free and open to all students no matter their sporting experience or ability.

Experienced or a novice in Table Tennis, come along to this fun and casual table tennis tournament hosted by the University of Exeter Table Tennis Club and one of the University Residence life team representatives.
There will be a variety of games, a table tennis robot, and some prizes up for grabs. Bring along your friends and show off your ping pong skills from 12:00-3:00 in the Sports Hall, with all equipment provided.
|This Girl Can Devon||Friday 27th January- Sunday 26th February||Timetable||
'This Girl Can' is a national campaign developed by Sport England and a wide range of partnership organisations. It’s a celebration of active women up and down the country who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets.
After the success of the 'This Girl Can' campaign in November 2016, Exeter Sport have joined with Active Devon to host a month of sporting activities targeted at encouraging female students to increase their levels of physical activity. Events run from 27th January – 26th February 2017.
Please register your interest for at either the Sports Park or St. Lukes Sports Centre. Alternatively, attend sport taster sessions on the day by simply turning up at the time specified.

|Grecian Shield||12th March||
Sand and Rubber Crumb
We are excited to announce that the annual Grecian Shield 6-a-side tournament will take place on Sunday 12th March. The day will begin at 9.30 with registration taking place on the Rubber Crumb but matches being played across both the crumb and sand astro. We recommend a maximum squad of 9 players with every team playing groups games and the top 4 from each group qualifying for knockout fixtures.Entry into the tournament is £20 and you must register your team at the Athletic Union office (Sports Park, Streatham Campus). This must be done by Wednesday 8th March. Team entries are on a first come first served basis with payment being made when registering.
|UV Volleyball||24th March||
The Volleyball club host this year's UV Volleyball tournament Friday 24th March at the Sports Park (Streatham Campus) at 18.30-21.30. Enter a team of 4 participants for £15.00 which includes glow sticks and UV paint! Register your team at the Sports park reception desk with payment before midday of the 24th March! Teams are encouraged to be mixed sex to encourage mass participation. However if you are a team of any one sex you may also enter a team.
Do not miss this one off sporting opportunity and invite your friends to wear your best UV fancy dress! Students may wish to wear a white t-shirt (for UV purposes) that they do not mind getting UV paint on!
|Aquathlon||30th April||TBC||University Outdoor Pool, Cornwall House. The Aquathlon is a discipline race- a swim followed by a run. The swim is completed in a heated swimming pool; the run takes place on quiet pavements and roads.
Novice: 300m swim, 2.5k run, ages 15 + £12.00
Sprint: 600m swim, 5k run, ages 15 + £15.00
