Healthy Halls

The Healthy Halls scheme provides activities, workshops and events for students in University residences aimed at improving their health and increasing their awareness of wellbeing.

Activities are either free or are heavily subsidised and take place across the residences. You don’t have to live in the residence where the event is being held in order to take part.‌

Yoga / Tai Chi

If the University life is getting too much then take advantage of the Free Yoga and Tai Chi session on campus. The sessions will run for 1 hour and give you the chance to unwind while improving your strength and flexibility.

The sessions are suitable for all levels from beginners to intermediate participants.

The sessions are all encompassing and mats and blocks are provided. All you need to do is bring yourself and be dressed appropriately for the activity.

Fitness Trees

Brand new fitness equipment has been installed to help colleagues and students get active on campus. Clusters of Fitness Trees have been set up at Lafrowda and Birks Grange Village to provide users with outdoor exercise rigs that can host more than 100 different exercises.

Each tree supports a set of bars, positioned at differing heights to allow activities such as tricep dips, pull-ups and inclined press-ups.

Accessory packs are also available at Lopes and Birks Central receptions to aid workouts, and give more people the chance to get fit on campus.

River Bike Ride

Fancy exploring the Exe estuary by bike and possibly stopping off for the odd refreshment on the way?

We’ll be hiring bikes and leading a ride down the Exe estuary towards Powderham castle.

Its one of the most beautiful, flat and safe rides in Devon and it’s on your door step.

If you want to take in the sights of the Exe then contact Paul Mouland on 01392 722039.
