Big Devon March

The University of Exeter, after its national success in winning the Love to Ride campaign, is getting fully behind the Big Devon March. The campaign is designed to get people walking more, whether that be on the way to and from work, at lunchtime, or in the evenings and weekends.

Joel Smith, Travel plan coordinator for the University of Exeter said “Encouraging people to walk and cycle to work is so important not just for reducing traffic and carbon emissions, but also for the improvements in Physical and Mental health. We hope that we will follow on from our national success in the Love to Ride campaign and top the table of The Big Devon March at the end of the Month.

The campaign begins on the 1st March, but you can sign up now on the Workplace challenge website.

Along with encouraging staff to walk to work we will be leading many lunchtime nature walks, bug hunts and biodiversity rambles. We also want to hear from staff that already have their favourite campus walks and encourage them to share the routes.
