We work with experienced coaches to deliver tennis to all Exeter students.

Student tennis

The Athletic Union tennis club has around 500 members, including performance team players and social members. Membership costs £80 a year and includes free court time, coaching sessions, cardio sessions and box-leagues.

We also offer internal competitions, tournaments, coaching, coach education and qualifications.

BUCS Tennis

Students are able to represent the University in the British University and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues. Exeter currently has 4 mens and 4 ladies BUCS teams, with both 1st teams competing in the National Premier League.

Team players are invited to BUCS training with the opportunity to attend team training at least 3 times a week along with fitness sessions. High performance players also receive additional strength and conditioning support.

For more information about performance tennis at the University, please contact Charlotte Wallace.

For more information on student high performance tennis please see the High Performance Programme pages.

Student tournaments and competitions

We offer opportunities for all students to participate in competition, whether you’re a team player or a beginner. Student competition includes:

  • Inter-University matches
  • Singles box leagues
  • Annual Club championships
  • Charity mixed doubles tournaments

Box Leagues

During terms one and two, a box league operates - this allows people to play regular singles matches to improve their tennis and ratings.
