We offer internal competition, tournaments, coaching, coach education and qualifications.
We work with experienced coaches to deliver tennis to all Exeter students.
The Athletic Union tennis club has around 450 members, including performance team players and social members. Membership costs £80 a year and includes free court time, coaching sessions, fitness and socials.
Students are able to represent Exeter University in the British University and Colleges (BUCS) leagues and Exeter and District league.
Exeter currently has 4 men’s BUCS teams and 3 women’s BUCS teams, with both 1st teams competing in the premier league. Squad players are invited to BUCS training with the opportunity to train 5 times a week; high performance players also receive additional strength and conditioning support. BUCS matches are played on Wednesday’s.

Student tournaments and competitions
We offer opportunities for all students, whether you’re a team player or beginner, to participate in competition. A few examples of competition students can be involved in include:
- Inter-University matches
- Singles box leagues
- Annual Club championships
- Charity mixed doubles tournaments
During terms one and two a box league for student tennis operates. This gives people the chance to play regular singles matches to improve their tennis and ratings.
