Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams through to Championship Finals
Following victories in last week's semi-finals, the University of Exeter Men’s XI and Women’s XI teams have both progressed to their respective Championship Hockey Finals. As part of BUCS Big Wednesday, the finals will take place on Wednesday 16 March at Abbeydale Sports Club in Sheffield. The matches will take place on the iconic blue and pink pitch which was used at the London 2012 Olympics and has been re-laid in Abbeydale as part of the Games' legacy.
Exeter Women’s 1st team take on Birmingham Women’s 1st at 14:30, with Exeter Men’s 1st team facing Loughborough Men’s 1st at 16:45. Please visit the BUCS website for more information on the event.
Chris McInroy, Director of Hockey, is looking forward to the event: “It will be a special day for us with both the boys' and the girls' teams in the Championship finals. I know they will do themselves and the University proud”.
Men’s 1st team coach Simon Tyson commented: “The team has progressed well over the course of the season, and we are looking forward to what promises to be a competitive final against Loughborough at the pinnacle of student Hockey”.
